KL in Annecy

I composed the music along Glacial for the short feature KL. The film is a succession of photographs taken in an immense cemetery in Upper Silesia reveals the place only through details: railway crossings and rivets, windows, red bricks, wagons, barbed wire, birch bark, numbers, pillars, bells, shoe polish, etc. It was directed by William Heine and Yann Bonnin and competed at the Annecy Film Festival. 12 June – 17 June 2017.

Shapereader in Dubai

Good Printing addresses issues of printmaking in regards to authenticity, reproducibility, and the mechanisation of art making. Nonetheless, the artists don’t engage in a nostalgic quest for the return to the original in order to restore the aura of the work of art. Rather, they celebrate the potentiality of the defects and inaccuracies that (can) occur in the process of copying originals or reproductions, which eventually redefines the essence of the originality of their work. Curated by Yasmina Reggad. Gallery Isabelle van den Eynde, Dubai, UAE. 22 May – 14 September 2017.

Gouffre

I am very glad to contribute a short story for Gouffre, an international magazine, conceived, designed, printed and bound by the editorial team. These new perspectives and unique approaches in comics are proclaimed as “minimal, maximal, without characters, made of sensations, or of emptiness, mute, aesthetic, close to abstraction. You will discover toxic undergrowth, extinguished suburbs, melancholic sci-fi stories, fake magazine covers, modern love relationships and visions of the near future.” Congratulations to the editorial team. Sold out!

iDance

This is the second year that the iDance educational program addresses questions of improvisation in regards to visually impaired. Conducted at the OCC, in collaboration with choreographer Iris Karayan, during the 12 seminars we will explore how to create sound and movement material, experiment with external stimuli and activate deep listening towards spatial awareness.

Moving Parts

I composed the sound design for Iris Karayan’s dance pieces Moving Parts and Manual Solos. The sound consisted of a narration of a text consisting for an instructions manual for a fictional appliance. The work was commissioned by the MIRFestival and performed by Antigone Avdi, Ioanna Paraskevopoulou and Amalia Kosma. Athens, 11, 12 & 13 December, 2016.
